We all know the huge toll, lack of sleep has on both our mental and physical health. Without proper sleep, our body produces more cortisol and other stress hormones that affect our health and well-being.
Poor sleep hygiene has been linked to a greater risk of many chronic diseases including diabetes, heart disease, anxiety and depression.
Yoga is a great ‘natural’ method for promoting better sleep. It works by reducing stress, quiets the brain, regulates the nervous system and by establishing a regular bedtime routine.
Regardless of your current ability, complete beginner or seasoned yogi, revisiting and understanding the basic practices can lead to an inner stillness, knowledge, and a stable foundation from which your personal practice will grow holistically.
Join me for an afternoon of pure indulgent yoga. Starting with Intention setting and breath-work. We will enjoy a gentle floor based, yin inspired yoga sequence, specifically created for encouraging and enriching sleep. All of this culminating in a nourishing Yoga Nidra (guided meditation).
Our afternoon together will offer you some practical tools and techniques to help you down regulate, and to switch on your relaxation response.
